Welcome to Filmmakers Without Funding: Season 2

A celebration of high quality, no-budget films.

Home: Welcome

The Challenge

We’ve all seen the film industry take film after film and remake them, often to mixed results. More often than not the remakes seem to be a way to sell tickets and little more. Don’t get me started on the many examples…But of course there is more to the industry than the blockbusters, the infinite sequels and prequels, and soulless remakes. It is our continued mission to recognize the creativity and skills of independent filmmakers. And this year we want to see remakes that aren’t about the money. (We’re making sure of that). The 2020 Filmmakers Without Funding challenge is your chance to pay tribute to some of the greatest scenes in film based solely on your creativity, resourcefulness, and talent as a filmmaker.

What is it, you ask?

You’ll choose a scene based on one of our selections and you’ll make it your own. You can take a comedic scene and make it a drama. You can change the setting, the time in history. The possibilities are endless. The only caveats are that you abide rules set to ensure the competition remains fair. This includes a set budget of $300 or less and that no shot for shot remakes are allowed.
